Q: What clothing do I need?

A: For survival running, it’s helpful to wear tights (long, tight-fitting sports pants). A loose-fitting T-shirt is also warm enough in the summer. When it gets colder, it’s also a good idea to wear a thermal top. Finally, long (sports) socks offer better protection against abrasions than short socks. For example, see here: Clothing.

Q: What shoes do I need?

A: Everyone has their own preferences, but the most important thing about shoes is that they’re comfortable when running and climbing. It’s also helpful, if not essential, that they have plenty of grip so you can easily climb obstacles. Some well-known brands are Inov-8 and Salomon. Stores where you can buy shoes include AllSur5, Decathlon, Run2Day, and Runnersworld.

Q: What should I eat before a run?

A: Have breakfast as usual. Do this well in advance so you don’t overfill during the run. Just before the run, you can eat a banana, a slice of gingerbread, or something else high in sugar. Also, make sure you eat enough after the run.

Q: When is FEL’s birthday?

A: We celebrate FEL’s birthday on March 19th.
